About Our Founder

Our founder Brian Cherry is an experienced Web Developer and Graphic Design Specialists with extensive knowledge of engraving, graphic design, digital print production, web design, and multimedia project design. He has developed brand and corporate identities, web sites, advertisements, sales and direct mail collateral for clients in marketing, retail, professional services and other various industries.

Inspired by the Hip-Hop culture, Ernie Barnes, Salvador Dali, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and John Biggers, he developed a passion for art and designs. It was then Brian started to develop illustrations, custom jean jackets and T-Shirts for family and local neighborhood friends. From this, Brian Cherry Designs was created on the campus of Hampton University in 1997. The company was known for developing illustrations for T-shirts, students and university-sponsored organizations. Throughout Cherry’s matriculation at Hampton University he noticed that he could earn money and expand his portfolio by freelancing for the University. Following this discovery, Brian developed educational related material such as textbooks, brochures and posters for various University departments and events. This is where he worked closely with a wide range of Department Heads and Chairpersons to develop various ads and promotional items that were educationally related. Following this discovery, Brian developed the idea of also freelancing for many promotional companies in the Hampton roads area. This is where he had the opportunity to create calendars, posters, brochures, textbooks and other print items for various businesses around Hampton University’s campus. As a result Cherry Fresh Designs was created.

Brian is currently using his 10 years of experience in the graphic design and web design field at Distribution One as their Creative Director / SR. Web Developer. In the past he has worked with companies such as GEICO, the Society of Hospital Medicine and Supreme Marketing Group where he helped with maintenance, redesign and development of their corporate web sites and brands. He is currently working on his MFA in Computer Arts New Media online at the Academy of Arts in San Francisco.

Although, we are a young company Cherry Fresh Designs is steadily growing, which gives us an advantage over larger design companies who develop and design.
